Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a fairly new diagnosis. It was only just coined in 1980 as an accepted clinical diagnosis. Since then it has become more prevalent in pop-culture if only because it is at the core of many ‘character flaws’ in fiction. “It is like Christopher Columbus discovering America,” you might say.

PTSD treatment involves personal consultation because PTSD is psychological, every person’s injury is personal to them. PTSD treatment is working with doctors and health professionals to heal the mind, body and spirit at the same time.  An example, used for soldiers, is the sort of treatment non-veterans also receive.
